In order to get the most out of your new MacVidCards GPU you may need to install new drivers for your current version of OS X. Please note that AMD GPUs do not require additional drivers; they are built directly into OS X.
Nvidia GPUs receive driver updates soon after each version update of OS X. Only one driver is released by Nvidia and it includes support for all of their modern GPUs. You will not find individually named Nvidia drivers for OS X, they are all titled 'Quadro & Geforce Mac OS X Driver Release xxx.xx.xxxxx'. The following list includes links to current and past Nvidia driver releases. Some releases of OS X have multiple driver releases. In the list below these are differentiated by a build number in parentheses, and are ordered oldest to newest, left to right. Refer here to check your OS X build number and install the driver that matches both your version of OS X andâ your build number. Nvidia cards also require a CUDA driver to enable CUDA support. The CUDA driver archive can be found here. Install the latest CUDA driver that works with your currently installed version of OS X to enable CUDA support.

The Nvidia driver waiting room is not an uncommon place for the Apple user. All of us sat patiently while we wait for Dr Cook to call us in. When Apple released Sierra, it took 11 months for Apple/Nvidia to deliver it felt like purgatory. Now weâre here again so below is a current timeline of events which we will keep updated as regularly as possible.

MacRumors spoke to an Nvidia representative about the Nvidia drivers and lack of approval for the drivers. In fact, Apple isnât even consistently communicating with Nvidia about the ongoing issue.

Screenshot posted which appears to be a response to a support enquiry from an Nvidia customer care agent that Nvidia and Apple are now jointly working on drivers for the 10XX â RTX cards.
